Environmental Policy

The greenest, most sustainable, building is often the one not built.

  • Invest in existing infill properties rather than newly developed greenfield properties thereby reducing the destruction of previously undeveloped greenfield locations and the associated watershed damage and heat island creation.
  • Invest in infill locations in close proximity to major ports and population centers, reducing vehicle miles travelled.
  • Manage and remediate potential environmental, including environmental reviews by independent environmental consultants
  • Reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions through upgrading existing facilities with energy efficient lighting and HVAC systems, water efficiency solutions
  • Recycle the majority of building materials from existing buildings during redevelopment. Utilize proper solid waste and wastewater management practices.
  • Obtain LEED certification on new buildings.
  • Commenced a rooftop solar initiative with an initial goal of producing rooftop solar energy on at least 5% of our total rooftop area by year end 2024.
